FRIENDS....!

Looking at this person who I am -
sometimes lost, sometimes at my wits end;
ever so mindful of some special folks -
who have embraced my heart as "Friends"

To know that I have someone special -
to walk with me this journey of life;
to be so blessed to have many -
to be with me thru any kind of strife.

Friends are a gift from God -
at least that is what I believe;
they seem to understand with love -
what is important and what I need.

A friend doesn't ask questions -
but will listen to my hearts' content;
and catch my falling teardrops -
for a friends hand is always lent.

Friends accept me as who I am -
not perfect, but with faults;
a sinner as all human beings are -
who always are embedded in my thoughts.

A friend will walk the road of life with me -
though even they might find it tough;
but will stay close by my side -
even though the journey might get rough.

I cherish my friends all the more -
even more so than relatives I know;
for a friend will look into my heart -
and put on my face a smile that glows.

I thank God for my friends everyday -
and they know that I am their friend too;
I'll hold them so tenderly in my heart -
for that is a friend's "golden rule"

If you find your life to be weary -
and the journey seems to bog you down;
know that there is a friend near you -
for in your heart, is where a friend is found!
